Ilka Stuhec Crowned World Champion

Stockli Team Rider, Ilka Stuhec, wins the 2019 World Championship in the Downhill.

Twenty eight year old speed skier from Slovenia, Ilka Stuhec, has backed up her 2017 World Champion Crown in the Downhill with another convincing win in the 2019 World Championship.

The three time Junior World Champion admitted to the 2018-19 season being a “comeback from injury” season, and was surprised at the result.

In an interview with Stockli Ms Stuhec commented, “I knew that I could ski fast. Early in the winter, however, that didn’t work out so totally well.”

Ms Stuhec confirmed the switch to Stockli has helped her to ski consistently faster. She said, “the switch to Stockli was the little kick and also the really big push I needed to ensure everything worked together and for me to make progress”.

Congratulations Ilka!!
